Valkyrie, clones, an unanswered question and some Japanese spirits, it's the one where it all ends, it's season six!
The final season sees a newly-reformed Eve on a quest for redemption for her past crimes as Livia. Meanwhile, Xena and Gabrielle resolve yet more Amazonian disputes, revel in Nordic folklore and encounter a newsreader from the future. The season (and the show) comes to a tragic end as Xena and Gabrielle travel to Japan where Xena is mercilessly killed by a samurai and opts to stay dead in order to finally atone for all of her past crimes, leaving Gabrielle to be 'the girl with the Chakram'.

Coming Home
After losing his immortality and Godly powers as a consequence of saving both Eve and Gabrielle's lives, Ares ventures to Amazon lands in search of Ambrosia to help him restore his Godhood. Meanwhile, Eve runs into trouble with an Amazon tribe when they realise she used to be Livia. Xena and Gabrielle must help Eve leave the Amazon Lands in one piece whilst stopping Ares from being tormented by the vengeful Furies.

A Friend In Need Part I
Xena is summoned to Japan by her old friend Akemi, who needs her help to battle an evil soul-eating ghost named Yodoshi who plans to attack the city of Higuchi with his army of samurai warriors. After saving the city from Yodoshi's first strike, Xena is determined to battle Yodoshi. But the resident ghost-killer tells her he can only be harmed by the dead which means Xena must allow herself to be killed in order to get close to Yodoshi and strike the fatal blow.

A Friend In Need Part II
After being killed by a samurai warrior, Xena enters the afterlife and confronts Eater of Souls, Yodoshi. Between herself, Gabrielle and Akemi, a plot is hatched to kill Yodoshi and then to bring Xena back from the dead. Gabrielle sets out to retrieve Xena's body, but at the last minute Xena discovers she must stay dead so that the souls of those she killed may find peace. As the sun sets, Xena fades away, but as Gabrielle sets sail for new lands, Xena's spirit is by her side.
