Xena, Gabrielle and Joxer travel to Melodia, musical Capital of Greece where the town greet them with a song. Gabrielle decides that the owner of the Lyre should be determined by way of a music contest, but unfortunately there seems to be a shortage of talent in Melodia.

Joxer's flamboyant brother, Jace, arrives on the scene with an upbeat rendition of 'Dancin' in the Moonlight'. Xena is continually harassd by suitors whom her mother repeatedly sends in the hope that Xena will take a husband and father for her baby.

Draco and Gabrielle have a short duet of 'Always Something There to Remind Me' while Xena rejects yet more suitors to be father to her child. Meanwhile, Joxer flirts with a young Amazon, Amoria.

Xena confronts her mother about this persistent need for her baby to have a father figure and, through the medium of song, convinces Cyrene that the baby doesn't need a dad - it'll have enough love from her and Gabrielle. Meanwhile, the show's about to start and Draco kidnaps Gabrielle and plans to murder her during his on-stage performance.

Xena interrupts Draco's show and saves Gabrielle from the go-go dancer cage. Xena and Draco battle it out - in the form of rap - and Draco is defeated, brining the concert to a close. The question still remains however, who wins the Lyre?

The concert finally ends as the Lyre is given to the city of Melodia because, quite simply, they rock! The final song is the most upbeat of the lot, with the entire crowd joining in: 'People Gotta be Free'. Also there is the added bonus in this clip of a blooper reel in the credits, with a heavily pregnant Lucy Lawless running round in the go-go outfit.
